Established in 1973, the club has become well known both locally and nationally for the high standard of its photographic work. There is a wide range of abilities from beginners to experienced photographers.
The club is affiliated to The Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies (EAF) which has some 120 member clubs. The club is well represented in the EAF with a founder member serving on the EAF Committee and two having served as President of the EAF.
Meetings are held on Tuesday evening from September to May at 7.30 pm at Swaffham Prior Village Hall, High Street, Swaffham Prior, CB25 0LD. It is therefore well positioned to serve the local community, attracting members from Cambridge, Newmarket, Mildenhall, Soham and beyond, as well as all the villages in between. It has a friendly atmosphere and new members are made welcome and beginners are given any assistance needed. This year, meetings on the last Tuesday of each month will feature Zoom lectures by leading photographers from across the UK
The club also runs a range of both internal and inter-club competitions, in digital images, colour or black & white prints, and has represented the EAF in the national finals held at Warwick University.
New members are always welcome and details of how to join can be found here. Prospective members are very welcome to come along as a visitor (small charge) to see what we are about and meet members.
